Journals of Rook

September 21, 1999

Feeling somewhat agitated and not needing to do any exercises in order to re-essence, I spent the morning flying around the Painted Pot and the Board resonating people. I did not expect to find anything, but the activity was helpful for my ability with this vessel and the morning was fine. As usual, Sunday being a busy day, I made my way back to the Board in time to change into suitable clothing for class.
At 9:45 Matt showed up to say that he was having a weird day. We did not have time to talk about it because classes were soon to start and he had to change as well. I told him we could discuss it later, if he liked. He thought that would be fine. Todd was already warming up himself so Matt did not have much time.
During our classes, a man entered the observation lounge and sat to watch us. Todd went to speak with him and evidently found no need for immediate help because he came back and the stranger remained. When my class was over a few hours later, the person having watched the entire proceedings, I approached him myself.
    "May I help you?"
"I notice Sangeeta is not here today," he replied.
"Yes, this is one of her dayıs off. May I help you with something?"
"I was sent by our mutual employer. Could we speak in private?"
Hearing this, I took him into my office and we conversed briefly. Mercurian and Vassal of Michael, he had been sent to assist me. A capable negotiator, he could be of benefit in dealing with any problems our group might encounter as we sought our various missions. Charismatic and friendly, Alaric was soon allowed to meet the rest of our group. They all showed up, coming through the back entrance so as not to attract any attention. I knew that Arashiel and Matt, in particular, would enjoy his company, all of them being talkative and friendly.
I had a class to teach and my conversation with the assembled angels had taken up most of it so I returned to class, leaving them in my office to chat as they liked. I was uncertain if the rest of them would be there when I returned but I suspected Alaric would still be there, ready to offer the assistance of a fellow Servitor of Michael.
