Raven Haiku

Raven Haiku

See the cars drive by,
Search the eyes of honest men.
Headlights more truthful.

Waiting, I grow old.
Is that a clock approaching?
It's only TIC-TOC.

I wait patiently.
You ask if I want Daspit.
No, I'm too thirsty.

Fencepost below me,
How can you be so homely?
Ow. A new splinter.

Sharp-eyed manhunter.
Nothing can escape my gaze.
Ooo, look! A shiny!

Feather drifts downward,
Hung on a thermal updraft.
Hmm, I pulled too hard.

The morning drags on.
How long trapped in sheer boredom?
Quoth I, "Evermore."
